“ it became evident from the start that this is a firm we should team up with”
William J Huggins, Director of building system management - Hamilton college
Clinton, nY
Recently, I was walking the campus with an individual from a firm we hired to evaluate campus housing and he made the comment, “your stone buildings look amazing, they all look so sharp and crisp.” I smiled and explained there is a reason for that!
20 years ago, the decision was made to develop a continuous yearly practice of performing masonry repair on campus until we completed every building. After looking at several masonry contractors in Upstate New York we elected to start the first phase with a local contractor, Lupini Construction Inc. They are a very knowledgeable organization and it became evident from the start that this is a firm we should team up with as we move forward with campus restorations. We have completed over 80 projects with them and see the value in their ability to work with Hamilton College. Their company values and work ethic make my job easier as I know their competency, sense of responsibility and commitment will ensure our jobs are done efficiently.
We have worked closely with Scott, Lori and their team of professionals to develop these projects that have affected 60 percent of the buildings on campus. Not just stone restoration but, caulking, sealing, waterproofing, and deck coating. All projects that require hours of exploration and research to develop the right approach to the repair. We have done this as a team, saving on design costs, helping develop the right approach to the repair, and maintaining schedules. We look forward to Lupini Construction taking the lead evaluating our structures, making recommendations, and assisting with prioritizing the needs of our buildings in the future. Creating a package that helps us plan out projects for many years in the future.
“what a remarkable transformation from aged and broken brick and multiple colors to a beautiful historic building”
Gene Mancuso, SUPERINTENDENT - HONEOYE Falls-LIMA CSD
HONEOYE FALLS, nY
The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District completed a major capital project in 2019 renovating our 90 year old high school. What a remarkable transformation from aged and broken brick and multiple colors to a beautiful historic building that reminded many of our citizens of the building’s look in the 1950s.
The accessibility to the campus was never compromised, classes continued, and the transformation was visible to the community as the school is in the center of the village. The personal attention to the project, your ability to problem solve and offer great advice was absolutely the customer service we were hoping for. I could not help talking about how absolutely thrilled I was with the work completed by Lupini for the community for Honeoye Falls-Lima Central Schools. Thank you for your personal attention to the HF-L project, please let the entire team know how thrilled we were with the building they recreated.
“the quality of workmanship was outstanding”
REv. Douglas G Comstock, PASTOR - St. cyril of alexandria
Alexandria BAy, nY
In the summer of 2019 The Catholic Community of Alexandria began a repair and restoration of the stone work at St. Cyril of Alexandria Church here in Alexandria Bay, NY. We received extensive photographs and details from the initial investigation prior to awarding the contract
The quality of workmanship was outstanding. Every consideration was made in providing accessibility to the church during this phase of the project.
Further examination revealed additional work which will be done in the summer of 2020 on the church tower, the front of the church and other locations.
I am very grateful for the professionalism you showed and for the quality of the work provided by your team. I am looking forward to continuing our working relationship.
“they have provided a wide variety of specialty masonry services for many of our firm's historic restoration projects and their work has consistently been of the best quality”
Randall T. Crawford, AIA - Crawford & Stearns Architects
Crawford & Stearns is pleased to serve as a reference for Lupini Construction, Inc. of Utica, New York. Over a period of more than twenty years they have provided a wide variety of specialty masonry services for many of our firm's historic restoration projects and their work has consistently been of the best quality.
In the course of these projects the company's principals and their crews have diligently maintained close contact with the project architect and have actively assisted with the evaluation of conditions, identification of viable treatments, and the selection of materials to match original conditions properly. The company also provides comprehensive in-house education programs for their workers ranging from safety procedures to proper execution to the careful evaluation of new products.
Of particular importance is that our clients have been consistently pleased with Lupini's consideration of owner needs and with the professionalism exhibited by their workers.
We are always pleased to have Lupini on our projects and the reader is invited to contact me directly if they wish to discuss the firm's qualifications and performance in greater detail.
“the finished product far exceeded our expectations”
Rev. Dr. James V. Davison
Tabernacle Baptist Church
Utica, NY
I had hoped to have a chance to meet you on that memorable Sunday when the Tabernacle Tower was dedicated. Dave Tomidy alerted me that you were there on the other side of Hopper Street watching the ceremony, but after the service ended, the TV reporter wanted our attention. By the time that was over, I was disappointed to learn that you had had to leave.
What a remarkable transformation you and your craftsmen wrought on that tower! Beautifully done! We had followed the work in process from pictures sent to us which you or your men had taken of stonework far up above. But the finished product far exceeded our expectations.
When Edith and our daughter, Nancy, first arrived in Utica on Friday of that memorable weekend, we drove around the neighborhood and were fascinated to see the Tower glistening in the sunlight against the blue sky. Then we stopped and stood beneath it, admiring the careful workmanship your people had done on every joint and stone all the
way up.
Please convey to all of your people our admiration of their workmanship and our gratitude for a job exceptionally well done.
“left us feeling confident that a quality job was done and will last well into the future”
Judy Bunnell, Clerk of Session
First Presbyterian Church
Plattsburgh, NY
On behalf of the Session of the First Presbyterian Church of Plattsburgh, New York I am writing to thank you for the work of Lupini Construction, Inc. on the mortar restoration project of our sanctuary building and for agreeing to take on the additional concrete job related to the Brinkerhoff Street steps when you were repairing the concrete sidewalk broken by the lift used in the mortar project.
You and the men you assigned to work here over the past three summers have left us feeling confident that a quality job was done and will last well into the future. We again greatly appreciate the incalculable extras in areas only accessible by the lift such as the painting of the wood surfaces and working with Herb Cottrell to replace the clock hands as well as a rotted still.
Your personal attention to the project and your accessibility to talk about the work being done and explaining it has been greatly appreciated. While we won't miss have the large lifts cluttering up the grounds, we will miss working with you and Lupini Construction, Inc.
“We at First UU Syracuse are delighted in the results of your work at our building!”
James D’Aloisio,
First UU Church
Syracuse, NY
We at First UU Syracuse are delighted in the results of your work at our building! Getting such a good brick match was something I never thought we’d be able to see. And your care and efforts in matching the existing mortar was above and beyond!
Working on a building in use is always a challenge. I received no complaints during the project - quite the opposite, as it seems Ethan was courteous to everyone who came by. And it was good that you decided to fix the large, dangerous hole in the step - sometimes those of us who should know better put our blinders on. Thanks for taking care of that.
All in all, the repaired areas look much, much better than they did before, and - even better - they’re structurally stable! You made a congregation very happy, and I’m proud to tell everyone I work with you. thank you for your work, your commitment, your professionalism, and your care.
“We are very pleased with all of the hard work they did and the terrific end product”
Julie Fox, Danforth towers
Rochester, NY
I want to thank everyone for a wonderful job done! We are very pleased with all of the hard work they did and the terrific end product. The buildings look wonderful! Sorry we couldn’t come together on the last bit of work. I hope we get to work together again in the near future.
